Starman DX

This is a paper clay sculpture of a character from a game called Earthbound. I made it a few years ago and cast a bunch of duplicates in resin. I’m in the process of doing that again (with a few slight alterations), so I’m starting with the same original sculpture.

Thanks :D Paper clay is fairly easy to work with. It's water soluble and may need some help sticking together with glue if you add small pieces. Although I gave this sculpture a layer of spray paint to make it shiny, you can get a very smooth almost shiny surface with the clay alone. A little sanding, moistening the clay a little, and then running a paintbrush handle or stylus (something hard) over the surface burnishes it to a smooth finish.

Is it applicable with aerosol tin can spray paints? Like those in hardware shops... Am a beginner with paper clay, and was trying to create a plastic like chair using paper clay... Thnx : )

Leap_Kye: I think a good thick layer of spray paint would make a paper clay sculpture look like plastic :)
